TACOMA MOUNTAIN RESCUE UNIT Tacoma Mountain Rescue members are highly trained volunteer climbers dedicated to wilderness rescue and safety education. TMRU specialize in search and rescue operations in rugged wilderness area involving high angle rock, snow and ice. We also become involved in providing technical expertise for search and rescue on rivers, in canyons, heavy timber, and aircraft searches. Training includes Advanced Climbing Techniques, Repelling, Wilderness Navigation, Search and Rescue techniques, First Aid, CPR, Survival and Communications.
