PENINSULA MOUNTED SEARCH AND RESCUE

PMSAR provides horse and riders for day or night Search and Rescue operations. Horse units are used as first response searchers on roads, trails, and in some cross-country situations. Members are trained in SAR techniques, survival, wilderness navigation, first aid, and in horsemanship techniques in SAR. Teams are self-sufficient and can stay in the field for up to 48 hours. Pack animals may also be used for transportation of equipment in the back country.
